    Brilliant work, Nivi. After reading the first paragraph I thought if I should have taken a print out of the blog and read it :) Nevertheless it was a fantastic read. It does bring out the universal debate if tit for tat is morally correct? I think it is. And that is why probably enjoyed it. I believe no one gets over anyone completely ever and that everything feels alright if you cut the other person out totally. But after reading your blog I feel if you have this kind of closure sure you can :)

    “I don’t feel anything for you anymore” is seriously such a confusing and derogatory statement that so many use in their break ups. Loved the fact how you made it the punch line of your blog.

    “I didn’t know what was worse, you falling out of love with me or you falling out of love with me because of another man” - a very pertinent question, crosses the minds of so many in similar situations :(

    I also liked the flow of the letter, of how he is slowly laying out the details of what he did interspersed with his feelings for her and how they gradually melted away as the letter ended.

    I am on the verge of announcing that this was your best till date but I know that might be because of prejudice with the issue on which you wrote.

    Wonderful read :)

    Lovely writing! The way the whole plot is narrated in the letter is awesome - the change in feelings towards the end of the letter, the way it is built up at the beginning, the tone of narration - everything is spot on! As for the morality of the deed, I guess different people will have different opinions. I personally think it is much more complex than “you did this to me, so here you go”, especially in matters of the heart. Anyways, hope this story doesn’t inspire people into taking revenge in a similar manner ;)

    P.S. Thanks for the special delivery ;)

    What do we have here… diversity to your writing resume?? :) And, and, we could shoot a movie with all the elements in the plot-line. Spying, cheating, revenge, deception,… we have a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie here. ;)
    Anyway, very nice writing as always and a very different and good start to the story.

    Nivi.. as everyone’s pointed out, it was the Hero cum Anti Hero movie literally.. that is so close to reality.. all of us have this part in us which is in stand by state and wants to come out at such crucial times.. I thoroughly enjoyed your narration which was most captivating.. making a plot is most difficult and bringing it out in bits and parts is even more praiseworthy here.. Lovely idea above all.. Its different.. its beautiful!!

    is life ever black or white? can something ever be justified as right or wrong? i cannot say he is wrong… neither is he right nor is she wrong… they have all done what they wanted to do. The hurt, the pain, the regret is all part of parcel of loving someone i guess.

    loved certain nuances such as “But how does that feel, not being able to touch the paper in which the letter is written”… seriously letter written in paper have a beauty about it

    “Why is that sometimes we don’t give the same respect that
    we give strangers to the people we love?” soooooooooo true… we take some people so much for granted that only when they leave we realize how valuale their presence has been

    Read your story after a long time. Awesome as usual. I do not want to comment on the morality of “tit for tat” (as i totally condemn it :P) but it never really brings you closure. Hurt the person as much as you want, your pain never really goes away.

    On a side-note, your stories/writing style is becoming more and more commercial. Trying to get one of your stories directed? :P

    Whoaaaa man… there was a loot of wickedness in the plot :). Not sure if i have seen this side of you in any other writing :)..

    But i got to give it to you . Was really really different and i thoroughly liked reading through it and most importantly i loved the shift in tone.. was actually expecting a lover reminiscing old times and feeling bad about it etc.. the sudden shift to revenge was really well done boss.. and do i agree or what “revenge my friend is always sweet” :)

    and dude the way you brought out the underlying anger in him and not actually put it in words… got to say is a work of a thorough artist… one advise for you lady.. get into writing a novel sometime :).. wont be suprised if it tops the chart :)

    Normally I have the habit of picking the best line in the blog and commenting on it.. but in this one i am unable to do the same :).. oh and by the way you could also add a finishing touch to the story with a signature or something.. i would love to give a name to the guy :).

    @Rahul

    I understand that this is close to your heart. that’s another reason why i expected a quick response from you too :) Glad that you liked it!

    @Sunil
    Thanks :) You are right, revenge is never the answer. However I wanted to put myself in someone character who would probably do this. Even the craziest of people have a reason for what they do. this is one such attempt

    @Prathap
    thanks a lot!! I know, we have all seen Ashas, surprisingly I have seen more Ashas than Anand’s( the narrator). Is that weird?

    thanks! That was my intention. I am super glad, it struck the same chord with you.

    @Adu
    Yes, Brutal i agree. Well in the story she is shown all teh pictures at the same time. Its the order in which the photos are arranged that I mention in the story. They do not happen at different times.

    @Abbas

    Thanks! And like most people seem to have assumed, no its not a real life inspired story. It was just a thought, a thought as to how someone like the narrator would do something like this. I tried being him for a few minutes. That’s it! :)

    @Archana

    Thanks a bunch! That was great feedback :) super glad you liked it.

    @Anu

    I think you appreciate in the level that i thought about it as. Not black or white but grey. Cause thats how most things in life are, whether we like it or not. We say that hurting someone is wrong and it should never be done. But what is hurt? Are there varying levels of hurt? Is there a meter where in we can go half way and not step off? Its things like these that made me think of this one. He dint go the dramatic way of killing for revenge, but he did go the tit for tat revenge. Is it right or wrong, I dont know. Would I do it or approve of it? No. I guess its what level of grey do we believe in.

    @Vinod

    I agree with you. Hurting someone back is never a good idea. It might never give you the much needed closure. But unfortunately our (anti) hero , if you will for some reason thinks it would, for him. As these are splice of life incidents, its what he thinks he should do then. Maybe after another 5 years, he will repent it.
